Festival of quality Israeli documentaries and movies, organized in collaboration with the Israel Academy of Film and Television.

Wednesday 4/2/26, 20:00: 'Tonight with Yehoram Gaon'

Yehoram Gaon has embodied countless roles – from Kazablan to radio host, from Mossad chief to family man – yet all are woven into his own life story and the story of Israel.

Like Shoshana Damari, Yossi Banai, and Arik Einstein, he is a pillar of Israeli culture, with one key difference: he is still with us. The public sees him as a monumental, stately Jerusalemite figure, but behind that image lies a man who was wild in his youth, sharp-witted, solitary, and outspoken in his social and political views.

For the first time, he agrees to reveal himself in an intimate cinematic portrait, telling his personal story – that of the man, not the legend – both to the generations who grew up with him and to the young who hardly know him.

Thursday 5/2/26, 20:00: 'Nandauri'

Israeli lawyer Marina appears to have escaped her suffocating, traditional Georgian roots. Now, she returns to Georgia, representing Nino, who left Georgia 11 years ago, leaving her son behind and now wants him back.

Determined to bring the boy back to his mother, Marina arrives to a small, forgotten village high up in the snowy mountains of Georgia and reaches Dato, Nino’s brother and the child’s caretaker.

Despite his hostility and great anger over his sister’s abandonment, he agrees to help. The more time they spend together, the more the two strangers share a journey that will change their perspective on life.

Friday 6/2/26, 13:00: 'Girl, Woman'

At the age of 30, Ella receives a mysterious suitcase with home tapes from the 1990s, which have been kept secret to this day, from the life of her mother, singer Dafna Armony.

This happens while Ella is helping her mother pack up and move – another move from a chain of moves forced upon her due to a complex economic reality.

Through the videotapes from the past, Ella discovers that behind her mother’s iconic figure hides a personal and painful story.

For the first time, she is also exposed to the identity of her father – a mysterious figure around whom rumors have hovered throughout her life.

It is a family portrait of two women who merge into one: the mother, a former legend, and the daughter, a filmmaker.

Saturday 7/2/26, 20:00: 'Orna and Ella'

When the renowned Tel Aviv restaurant Orna and Ella closed after 26 years, the city said farewell to a landmark culinary destination. This mouthwatering documentary, shot during the final days of the restaurant, was directed by Tomer Heymann (Paper Dolls, Mr. Gaga), who has not only been a major award-winning voice in Israeli nonfiction cinema for more than two decades but also worked at Orna and Ella for six years himself—and came out there as a gay man in his twenties.

In addition to the beloved sweet potato latkes, homemade bread, and ice cream, this Tel Aviv institution was a bastion of open-mindedness. Humorous and poignant, his film stands as a complex testament to the two women who owned the restaurant, Orna Agmon and Ella Shine.

They are refreshingly candid as they look back on the ups and downs of their partnership, while Heymann’s film also pays tribute to a recent past that has begun to feel increasingly distant.
