Your potential clients are probably busy, and want to find solutions for their problems quickly and easily. On digital platforms (especially on mobile) they are likely to scan your text, rather than read it fully.
The quicker they understand exactly what you offer, and how you offer the best solution for their needs, the more likely they are to choose your business! - Be very clear about your target market:
Who is your ideal client?
What do they need / want?
What is important to them? - Don’t use first person narrative!
Move the focus away from yourself, and make your customer the centre of attention.
Recommended Format:
1. Start with a clear sentence that encapsulates your business.
2. Focus on your number one differentiator!
- What makes your service/product special?
- Why should people choose you instead of other similar businesses?
Choose one thing that you want the customer to remember, and make sure to phrase it in terms of the customers’ benefit!
Examples include: organic ingredients, unique methodology, extended hours, native English speaker...
3. Outline your services & products
Keep this clear and simple - in most cases a short list of ‘bullet points’ is best. |
Examples include: Electric & manual triss repair / Japanese hair straightening / Real Estate law.
4. Describe the benefits that you offer the customer.
- How are you going to make their life better?
- How will you solve their problem(s)?
Examples include: Fast response time, exceptional service, guaranteed work, fair pricing...
Think about the adjectives that define your specific service style. E.g: professional, dedicated, meticulous...
5. State what expertise or authority you have in your field.
Keep this section brief!
E.g: number of years in the field, relevant work experience, professional qualifications.
6. Call to action!
Tell people clearly what you’d like them to do next.
E.g. ”Call now for more information!”, ”Come and visit!”, or ”Click here to see....”.
