City Instructions for Dog Owners During Fireworks

Last Updated: over 2 weeks ago

The city veterinarian, Dr. Ofer Einav, wishes to remind residents and to recommend to dog owners to put their dogs on leashes and to keep them inside their homes on Erev Yom HaAtzmaut during the fireworks to prevent them from running away.

Einav also recommends not to leave dogs on balconies, as they may attempt to escape by jumping off the balcony.

He notes that every year during the fireworks dogs panic and run in all directions, and asks that people do not go out with their dogs during the planned fireworks displays at around 20:45, 21:40 and 22:20.

He also mentions that the Iriyah receives many complaints every year about dogs that have run away due to the noise.

Please note that dogs are not permitted to enter into Yom HaZikaron and Yom HaAtzmaut events.
