Imi HaGeneralit - Comedy Show with Tzipi Shavit

In honor of the 70th anniversary of the State of Israel, 'Imi HaGeneralit' (My Mother the General) is returning to the stage! This time starring Tzipi Shavit, in a new and hilarious production.

A worrying, anxious brave mother (in short ... there's no one like a mother), goes to her son's military unit on the Hermon, to bring her son home-made food. Lieutenant Gabi, embarrassed and confused by his mother's bad timing, entrusts her to the entry guard Azulai, who will later curse the moment he was entrusted to look after Lieutenant Gabi's "harmless" mother.

What seems like the beginning of a normal day soon becomes a day full of errors. Gabi's mother takes over the unit, teaches the military secretary who is in love with her son about femininity and beauty, suspects that her husband is cheating on her and on the way manages to get in trouble with UN personnel and accidentally gets caught over enemy lines.

The play was a huge hit in the 1970s and performed more than 1,000 times throughout the country (starring Geula Nuni).

Following the success of the play, a movie was made starring Gila Almagor.

The play was performed in 15 countries around the world: in Europe, South America and the United States.
