The miller's young son dreams of a life of comfort and wealth, but a poor boy like him has no chance of making his dream come true. Everything changes when the family's shrewd cat decides to take the daydreaming boy under his wing, and give him an unforgettable life lesson.

The friendship between the innocent boy and the resourceful cat sets the stage for a wonderful, funny and educational journey for them both. First to the palace of the spoiled princess, who longs for true friends, and from there to an enchanted castle, where they fight an evil wizard.

The clever cat employs all possible tricks to turn his master, the boy - into a real prince.

At the end of the journey, the boy and the princess learn what the true meaning of "being a princess or a prince" is and what is expected of people who hold power and status: courage, generosity and devotion to others - whether they walk on two legs or four.
