New and unique archeological park located in the heart of the Moreshet neighborhood, with accessible paths, seating areas, play equipment and signage, lawns, and lighting in the evening.

The park is built in a circular design, with several paths:

  • The outer path - a sports promenade of around one kilometer long
  • A 700-meter-long hiking trail
  • The main archeology trail of around 500 meters in the innermost circle, which is at the center of the hill
  • Along the paths there are audio stations that tell the story of the hill and the neighborhood, as well as seating areas and play equipment.

On the site, the Antiquities Authority has uncovered remains that tell the story of the ancient settlement from the Hasmonean, Hellenistic and Roman periods, and the remains of a farmhouse and an industrial area where an olive press, wine press, mikveh and warehouses from the Hasmonean period are believed by some to have also been used by pilgrims to Jerusalem. In addition, the site contains the remains of a mansion from the Roman period and a system of hiding places from the days of the Bar Kochba rebellion.

The archeological findings discovered by the Antiquities Authority during the excavations are displayed in the Hasmonean Heritage Museum.

Parking: from Ariel Sharon Street to Haim Weitzman Street 32 (park in the underground parking lot) and from there continue on foot to the entrance path to the hill. The parking lot will be opened for the coming period as a trial, in the afternoon hours from 15:00 to 20:00 daily.
