Car stuck? Kid locked in? For every mishap, for every person left helpless and in need of rescue or assistance - there is someone to give free help, regardless of race, gender or religion.
The Yedidim organization, which is active throughout the country, was founded by Meir Weiner, a resident of Modiin Illit. It now has over 19,500 volunteers, religious and secular, throughout the country, from Eilat to Metula.
Help is at hand 24 hours a day (except Shabbat and Chag, unless a human life depends on it), just call and you will be connected to a volunteer near you who can come and help.
The organization is run on a non-profit basis, with its only goal being helping others.
Services include:
- Jump starting car - help with cables
- Rescue and unlocking of cars
- Tire changing
- Offroad rescue services
- Rescue services from elevators
- Gas, oil and water
